SWIMMING POOL SAFETY

The swimming pool is an essential part of holidaying for many people, but remember that, misused, it can be dangerous. However, by applying just a few simple common sense rules you can be sure of thoroughly enjoying your time in the pool.

  • Make sure you know the depths of the pool by looking at the ground markings.

  • Please observe our strict no diving policy.

  • Do not run around the pool side, this especially applies to children with wet feet.

  • Do not go out of your depth unless you are a good swimmer.

  • Do not swim if the water is unclear or you cannot see the bottom. If this is the case contact your representative as soon as possible. Heavy weather or thunderstorms can cause pools to turn cloudy. Cloudiness can also be caused by excess suntan oil, especially when non water proof types are used.  Children and fair skinned people should wear a hat and T-shirt whilst in the pool as harmful ultra violet rays can penetrate water up to a depth of 1.5m and are reflected off the water surface.

  • Beware of dangerous surfaces, drainage channels slippery tiles or raised edges.

  • Always supervise children and non-swimmers in and around the pool area.

  • Avoid swimming if you have been drinking alcohol, especially late at night. Do not swim within 1 hour of eating - it can be fatal.

  • In the event of an accident in or around the immediate area of the pool, you must report this straight away to your representative. Any fault with the pool or its equipment will be inspected and immediate action taken to correct the problem.  If, in the opinion of the representative the pool must be closed for your safety until a repair is facilitated, you will be instructed in writing to cease using the pool, no conpensation will be offered should this be the case.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation by you: If you choose to cancel your booking you will normally lose all monies paid. However, we will always attempt to re-let the property on the best possible terms to mitigate your loss.  Please be aware, particularly in the case of cancellations close to the start of rental, that we may be unsuccessful in re-letting even at a discount. If we are successful in re-letting you will receive the rental we are able to achieve on re-letting less an administration fee of £100.

  • Cancellation by us: We reserve the right to modify or withdraw any booking due to circumstances beyond our control, for example where fire, flood, theft, damage or any other occurrence renders the property uninhabitable or incapable of providing the facilities or services originally offered. In such an event a comparable substitute property will be offered or a full and immediate refund of monies paid.

  • Travel insurance: We recommend you obtain comprehensive travel insurance immediately on booking. In the event of cancellation by you, the deposit and any balance paid may be lost.
